CTR Updates Now Available for FinCEN E-Filers
To ensure that our software is meeting the needs of our users and regulators, the regulatory reporting function of our anti-money laundering (AML) compliance solution now includes FinCEN’s most recent updates for electronic filing of currency transaction reports (CTRs).
In August of 2017, FinCEN updated the CTR on the BSA E-Filing System in order to conform to changes outlined in a Federal Notice from February 2016. New and updated fields were added to the online discrete CTR and CTR batch files, including:
- Person Involved in Transaction
- Amount and Type of Transaction
- Transaction Location
- Filing Institution Contact Information
In addition, as of June 1, 2018 FinCEN will also require institutions that batch file to submit CTRs in XML format rather than the previously required ASCII based fixed-length delimited file. Our AML compliance solution now conforms to this new requirement.
These new changes, along with the core regulatory reporting capabilities, ensure that our users experience no gaps in meeting their regulatory reporting requirements and are able to submit accurate CTRs in a timely manner.
